The 2020 Al Invitational was originally scheduled in May at Old Edwards Club, but like everything else in 2020 the tournament was delayed due to Covid.  A rescheduled limited field event took place on a beautiful but challenging course at The Waterfall Club in Clayton, GA.   Day one had lots of rain on the course from the previous night.  Playing the ball down, there were many lost balls on the tight fairways and elevation changes of the mountain terrain.  A late rules controversy sparked over diner.

Day two was played alongside the Atlanta Golf Association event with less windy conditions than day one.  The Al quickly became a two man race as the Williams brothers got out to a sizeable lead by the start of the back nine.  Going into the second to last hole, Tournament CEO Alex Williams was leading but an errant drive led to a tie with Arthur going into the final hole.  The finishing hole was a long par 5 with two tiered green, and both Alex and Arthur were greenside in two.  Both brothers managed to get up and down for birdie and as Arthur was stroking he took home the championship--also clinching his flight in the AGA event.  Many people are still talking about Arthur's numerous up and down conversions on day two of the tournament, a performance that will not soon be forgotten.
