The 2019 Al Invitational took place on a muddy weekend in early April, and in true Al fashion the courses were played down for the tournament.  The Legends Course proved no challenge for first time Al participant Critter Broadnax, who led the way early with two net birdies out of the gate and a strong even par front nine.  Mr. Alex Williams himself also had a strong showing early before fading late with four bogies in the last 5 holes to finish the day in solo third (+4).  The round of the day went to Joby Peppers, who finished strong with the only natural birdie of the day on a tough uphill 18th to card a net score of even par.  Despite going to bed past midnight, Peppers slept like a baby on his 3 shot lead over Broadnax.

Day two had better weather although the Chateau course was in relatively poor condition.  Everyone was amazed to see Mackay Drake shoot up the leaderboard as Peppers stumbled early.  Unfortunately, a late handicap stat correction led to a four shot swing that Drake could not recover from down the stretch.  Peppers played his brand of steady-eddy golf throughout the day to finish with a three shot victory over new comer Keith Guest (+10), claiming the vaunted Red Jacket.
